Employment, Structural Changes and Human Development in Côte d'Ivoire

The 2013 Human Development Report in Cote d'Ivoire entitled « Employment, structural changes and human development in Cote d’Ivoire » reviews structural changes that impacted on employment trend and on populations’ welfare. The report also reviews the context of human development, the structural features of employment, the regulatory framework and the functioning of the labor market and identifies their impact on employment. Opportunities for green jobs are discussed to focus the search for solutions for employment issues, mostly youth employment, in a sustainable manner. At the same time, the inclusion of informal sector workers in terms of decent jobs through social protection is discussed in order to gradually give to jobs, particularly the informal sector jobs a truly decent feature.
